I was ice fishing with Pondboy and JC1Crappies on a body of water with a nice mix of species.  Perch was one of those species and I found that a perch pattern Salmo Zipper was the key to catching.  So far today I'd iced nice sized crappies and some largemouth.

I had just caught a largemouth and was taking its picture.  I saw another mark on my flasher so I released the bass quickly and dropped the Zipper back down the hole.

ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!  The reel's drag squealed!  Bounce, bounce goes the rod tip with deep headshakes! Three more runs later this estimated three pound bass whacked my Zipper and ran hard away from the hole when he figured out he was hooked.   That was tons of fun on lighter ice gear!
