After catching 22 largemouth and 6 pike the day before on lake Delavan, I figured i'd try to hit a local spot. My dad and i hopped in the truck to give it a try. Upon arrival, i saw some nice wind chop going across the water so i figured i'd try my 1/4 red eye shad in red craw chart. color, the same lure that caught me 21 largemouth the day before (one on a senko). The first cast produced a small 1 lb. bass. I just had a feeling that i was going to get into some fish that day. My dad pulled in a nice 4 lb bass which gave me even higher hope knowing that he caught it on the same thing i was using. i headed to the shoreline where the wind was pounding in. 6 casts later i felt a promising thunk and came back on something SOLID. After fighting the fish for a short period, i got a chance to see the size of the bass i had on. When the fish swung to the right in front of me, i could see that it was a very nice bass. However, when he turned left, i had to squint for i saw something a little odd. quickly, i realized there was not 1 bass on my red eye shad, but two. I slid them both up on shore and immediately called my dad over for picture time! One had one treble hook in its mouth and the other had the other treble. The smaller bass weighed less than a pound, but the larger bass weighed in at an honest 5 lbs. with my scale. I could not believe my eyes. i had never done this in my life before. After snapping a few pictures, i slid both bass back into the water so they could swim to see another red eye shad someday ;).
