Great podcast guys, lot of good tips in there. I am definitely gonna buy some of those Lake Fork Baby Shads Brim talked about next time I am at Bass Pro. If they are as good for crappie and bass as the bigger lake fork magic shads have been for me for bass in the past then I will be very happy!

Hit...
I've been fishing only artificials for crappie and doing pretty well. Today I bagged a 14" fat one at a Lisle pond with a pumpkin/chartreuse BPS squirming squirt, on a 1/32 oz jig. I caught 3 others around 9" and a dozen bluegill on my lunch break.
I was doing okay with some gulp chartreuse minnows over the weekend also.
I'd love to try minnows at some point, but since I mostly run and gun, the artificials reduce the hassles.
I haven't tried Hidden Lake FP for a while, and never tried for crappie there. Maybe next week.
Good luck!

Anyone working Hidden Lake(s) for crappie? I got out yesterday just for 45 mins with no luck. hit the areas with fish cribs. Within minutes the fish cop was making small talk. He told me where the crappies usually are being caught, tried with no results. May just be a little late in the season for artificials.

Awesome podcast guys. Lots of good info. Hopefully I can put it to good use this weekend.

Marty, my two biggest Crappies (13" & 14") were caught at the Wheaton pond you mentioned in the podcast. So they are still there, and scrappy as hell.
Good luck today!
Good luck today!

It was fun having Brim on. I am going for crappies at 3 PM today.

Love crappies!! I look forward to hearing the show.

Fun show! Thanks to Brim for coming on the show. There is a ton we did not cover we will need maybe an ice crappie show or a spring crappie show. So many cool baits and tactics for these sneaky fish.

I tried to call in. But me and my basketball team was too busy getting beat by basketball teams that much older than we are.
