I caught a pretty nice size green sunfish myself.

 Fishing Team Catches Nice Fish

DuPage Angler News Room - by DuPage Angler CSimon

I could tell Steph was getting bored, so I said, let’s try one other spot before heading home. On the way to the next spot I had promised Steph that I would get her a fish. She told me it didn’t matter if she caught one or not. I made a deal with her, that I would fish and when I get a fish on the line, she could reel it in. She agreed. A couple of casts at the new spot I felt the first fish hook up. I handed the rod to Steph and she reeled in a nice little bass.

When it was all said and done, we were out for maybe 45 minutes. We landed 3 bass and 4 green sunfish. It sure was nice to get out and fish with Stephanie again. She caught her first fish when she was 3. She fished with me for a couple of years, but she has not the past couple of years. I try not to pressure her. I hope this is the start of her and I going out again. Time will tell. Sadly, we did not get to play Fishin’ Time as we ran out of time. Maybe tomorrow will be my day of relaxation and we can fish from home.

This is awesome! Thanks guys! I showed this to Stephanie and she got a huge smile on her face. She said to say thank you as well. This was the first time in a few years she actually fished with me. I hope we have more daddy/daughter days like this. Thanks again!

This is an awesome post! Just last weekend my daughter, at the age of 9, mastered my baitcaster. She was fishing with a crankbait. No fish but she had a blast just casting it to see how far she could throw it. Fishing with kids is always fun....even if they get bored after a few minutes, to see their faces light up when they catch one is priceless :)

That looks like one mean green sunfish. Nice one. It might be a warmouth. At any rate very well done.
