Looked around and found out what a blue crayfish is. It's a brown crayfish with a genetic oddity. They are used in the aquarium trade.

I bet someone dumped their aquarium crayfish in there or bought some at an aquarium shop to fish with and now they have colonized the lake. Pretty cool.

One weird thing was there were hundreds of dead crawdads all over the shoreline, and most of them were blue. No idea what that was about.

I heard the ponds on Eola are fed from the fox river and can vary in depth depending on what they are doing, I have caught bass there and I see a lot of crappie fishermen there as well. Skip (deer run angler) has more experience there.

Hey GTR09...I think one of those photos would make a good profile picture for DA. ;-)

I know they are in there! I landed a monster last spring. I needed help! Pond Boy knows all about it!

I parked by the red barn. There's even a handy picnic table there to setup. I've been all the way around lake law and also that lake to the east of it. The east lake is just a 2 inch swampy mud flat right now. What's in the Eola ponds? I saw they are all gravel and rock lined, and the west one is really warm. I assume it's a cooling lake? That facility was spraying water out.

I didn't either, saw some posts older that had a few fish though from Marty and it was on the way home so figured why not try. I dunno what has fish and what doesn't as far as lakes around here actually. One of those fish came from the Eola pond. Was day before yesterday with that cold front and nothing was biting. Saw a dead crappe and decided to fish for them and ended up getting that 2lb bass on my ultralight and a tiny jig.

Yeah, DRA has had some pretty good success there. I haven't fished lake law, but I have fished Casey's and Andy's pond on the north end of Eola. Where did you park for access to lake law?
